Supporting the Adaptive Sports Association.
We never want cost to be a barrier in
our students' choice to participate
in adaptive activities. A donation opens
the door to the joys and
countless benefits of adaptive sports
and recreation. Your contribution illustrates
your belief that students with disabilities
can be vital,
active, contributing members of society.

"Everybody pitches in. They work together as a family
and you just don't find that at other programs. "
|
We invite you to become a member of this positive and constructive
family who gives back in such wonderful ways. Our optimism wouldn't
find a home if it weren't for the tremendous support of so many
individuals, businesses, volunteers and foundations that together
make "giving disability a possibility" a reality.
In exchange for your support we pledge:
- We will continue our work with the disability community
with as much fervor as ever.
- We will continue to nurture the human spirit to bring out
the best in each individual involved with our programs.
- We will continue to build a sense of community by bringing
together a diverse group of people of a common heart.
- We will continue to prudently utilize funding with complete
honestly and integrity.
- We will continue together to make differences in the quality
of others' lives one student at a time.
Your financial support of ASA is leveraged through the generous
in-kind support of Durango Mountain Resort (DMR) and almost 200
dedicated volunteers. The IRS has recently placed the value of volunteer
time at $16.05 /hour. Through this figure we are able to estimate
the total value of volunteer time with ASA at approximately $240,000
a year! When we combine this number with the lift tickets, passes
and facility provided by DMR it's easy to see just how far we are
able to stretch your membership dollars.
Please help us continue our valuable work in the disability community.
Your financial support can change someone's life in such a positive
way!
As a 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization there
are numerous ways in which you may financially
support our efforts.

Endowment Fund Overview
Two endowment funds have been established
for the Adaptive Sports Association
(ASA) through the Community Foundations
Serving Southwest
Colorado. This non-profit foundation
has been established to assure that
community member's assets are managed
according to the donor's
wishes and invested to maximize their
earning potential, all in the spirit
of strengthening our community. Through
the pooling of funds,
non-profit organizations are better able
to achieve excellent investment yields.
It is the hope and goal of ASA that
the endowment funds will maintain the
long-term financial stability of the
organization. A substantial
portion of the organization's annual
budget will eventually be covered by
endowment interest, allowing a
greater focus on mission
fulfillment and program activities with
less reliance on events and fundraising
activities.
Connie Roush Memorial Fund:
Connie Roush was a passionate volunteer and strong financial supporter
of ASA. This endowment fund has been established to perpetuate Connie's
generous support of volunteer training within Adaptive Sports. The
fund was developed in cooperation with the Community Foundations
Serving Southwest Colorado through funds donated by Connie's friends
and family members and a grant from the Community Foundation.
Establishing this endowment that gives back to ASA every year is
a wonderful way to memorialize Connie and to keep her memory with
us well into the future. These funds will solely be used for instructor
training purposes.

Adaptive Sports Association Endowment Fund:
This primary endowment fund has been
developed with a vision toward the future
of the Adaptive Sports Association. The
goal of this
fund is to gradually build enough capital
to earn interest that would offset ongoing
expenses of the program's annual budget.
This
would reduce the focus on fundraising
activities and allow more of our attention
to be directed toward programs and mission
fulfillment.
It also would provide financial stability
for the organization through weaker
economic periods. This long-term endowment
fund is designed
for future financial well-being of ASA.
